WACCAMAW WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD

The Waccamaw Workforce Investment Board (WWIB) is the regional entity that implements the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg Counties of South Carolina. Appointed by local elected officials, WWIB is responsible for planning and overseeing local workforce development programs. The majority of the WWIB members are business representatives. Other members include representatives of education providers, labor organizations, community-based organizations, economic development agencies, and programs participating in the one-stop system.  In our area, Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments serves as the administrative entity and fiscal agent for the Workforce Investment Board.
